Music, Disney and appropriation.

For most of Disney's work music is an integral part for many of the animated shorts and feature movies he helped produce. From the very beginnings of Mickey Mouse where his movements are synched up with the accompanying music. To when Disney crusaded to show animation as art and not something that can be casually thrown away as child's entertainment. He sought out to combine animation with classical music as visual way to convey the tonal moods and emotions in the composition. For many of Disney's fans the musical component is as strongly engrained into their memories as the design and animation components. It is interesting to see in the digital age, how some artists can hack and recombine familiar sounds and songs into something completely different. I wonder how Disney would react some of these remixes?
